Is your life so fast paced and hectic that you are not sure where to even begin?
Any sort of change takes a few simple and basic steps. Below is a guide to help you get started to feeling healthier, clear the clutter in your mind, and get moving in the right direction.
First Things, First…
- First, evaluate what is bothering you the most.
What is most important to you right now? Are you physically feeling sick or unhealthy? Do you have major health issues that need immediate attention? Or are you so stressed out mentally because your home is cluttered, dirty, messy, or disorganized?
Perhaps it’s all the above! That’s okay! Take a deep breath, and just take the first step in this journey.
So–grab your pen and paper! I prefer to use a designated notebook for each area of my life. I use a notebook for my exercise plan. A separate notebook for goals. A three-ring binder for classes I may be taking, etc. You get the idea!
Begin by finding your priority item. Then, write it down.
It’s okay if you’re not sure. You can always change it later, if something more important comes to your mind.
This is your first baby step in improving your life and your health! We can do this together!
Secondly…
- Second, make a plan.
Let’s say your first priority is health issue, and you want to improve yourself without synthetic drugs.
Take 15 minutes to do a quick online search to see holistic ways that may help.
(Chemicals in your home and personal care products may be contributing to your health issue. Diet and nutrition may also factors. Here’s a post where I talk about improving your life by getting rid of harmful chemicals.)
Once you’ve done your initial search, then jot down a few of the best ways to improve or overcome the thing your wrote down.
Or maybe you need to schedule a visit with your doctor that you have been putting off. Take these next 15 minutes to make that phone call!
Then…
- Third, implement 15 minutes of action.
So you have your priority item, your research gave you some ideas on how to overcome it. Thirdly, take another 15 block of time and implement your plan.
This process is great for organizing and decluttering an area.
If your priority item is a physical characteristic that you want to improve, then take 15 minutes to write out your new eating plan, for example.
Simply eliminate one or two foods in your diet that may be contributing to your health problem.
Then plan a trip to the grocery store to replace those two foods with wholesome alternatives that will improve how you feel.
Lastly…
- Rinse and repeat!
This is where a notebook comes in handy! Date each entry that you make. Keep track of any little baby steps and progress that you make!
Remember, Think Ahead…

Plan For Setbacks…
We all hate to say it, but in any type of change, there will be times we fall off the wagon!
