Even though essential oils have gained popularity in the past decade, I was a bit reticent to jump onto the essential oil bandwagon as an herbalist. Old-timer herbalists used oils with great caution because of their potency.
However, after seeing friends and relatives benefit from essential oils, I decided to give them I try. Now, I use them fairly regularly, with care and caution, of course!
My favorite line of oils is PURE. Unmatched quality at amazing prices!
Here are the top four oils I have been using in the last several months:
Refresh

The essential oil blend, Refresh, has become a new favorite for me. True to its name, it is a light, refreshing scent.
I have used it in my diffuser as a room freshener & purifier. And have also used it as a personal fragrance, lightly applying it to the base of my hairline on the back of my neck and through my hair.
It is a blend of lemongrass, black spruce oil, lime, lemon, scotch pine, citronella, and tea tree oils.
I simply love it!
Cypress

I was introduced to the healing properties of cypress by a friend when I mentioned to her that I started having severe nose bleeds for no apparent reason.
She gave me a bottle of cypress, and told me to apply a drop or two in my nostrils the next time I experienced a nose bleed.
I did just that, and sure enough–my nose bleeds stopped!
It has been over 6 months since I have had a nose bleed. But cypress became a miracle oil, in my opinion!
Peppermint

There are days that stress simply will shut me down with a migraine.
If I can catch the migraine early enough, I apply peppermint oil to the various parts of my head that are the culprit.
I recommend using a carrier oil with peppermint because of its potency.
Applying a few dabs to the temples, base of the neck, and other spots that are aching has helped me tremendously!
Armor

Lastly, this immune boosting, infection-fighting blend has been a god-send to me this winter.
I have used it in a quick and easy homemade moisturizer. I describe how I make it in this post.
I have applied it as a natural fragrance on my wrists, too.
I love the help it has offered my immune system with its blend of cinnamon, clove, rosemary, eucalyptus leaf, and eucalyptus flower oils.
One word of caution:
Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts that need to be used with caution. If not used properly, they can cause harm. Please thoroughly research each essential oil before using it.
